It was a productive first quarter of 2022 for the Tomorrow.io product team, with significant improvements across the UX of our platform, the depth and accuracy of our weather data, and lots more! As we look back on our latest releases from March, we’re already hard at work on our Q2 roadmap and we’ve got some exciting stuff cooking.

Also, don't forget to sign up for our annual ClimaCon conference coming up in May! This virtual event will bring together the brightest minds and most notable voices across all industries to discuss topics like global weather impact, weather intelligence, ESG, sustainability, and climate adaptation and security.

Updated Weather Timeline

We’ve significantly extended the Weather Timeline views on our platform! Previously available in the API, the timeline view of weather in the Platform is now expanded from 4.5 days to 14 days out, and historical data expanded from -6 hours to -7 days. With an easy selection from the dropdown menu, we wanted to give users maximum flexibility and user-friendliness to quickly navigate around the Timeline on the platform. Please contact your account manager to get expanded Timeline access for your account.

New Weather Data - Precipitation Accumulation

Tomorrow.io weather data now includes Precipitation Accumulation for rain, snow, and ice. We now derive precipitation accumulation from observed radar, satellite-estimated precipitation, and our nowcast, which is significantly more accurate than the model-based method previously used. In addition, we also now provide liquid water equivalent for all frozen precipitation types. This is relevant to assessing the impact of rapid snow/ice melt from a hydrological perspective, and is available in our Timeline API.2022-03-16_15-45-38.2022-03-16_15_47_22.gif_upscale_true_width_1116_upscale_true_name_2022-03-16_15-45-38.2022-03-16_15_47_22.gif
